If you are still writing your plans by hand, STOP and go here.
This is my favourite plan book. It helps me stay organized and efficient. It’s user-friendly and has many useful features. I added my classes, with times and dates. Every week I plan using this amazing website. I like that I can colour-code different classes, and organize the way my schedule is displayed. I can also print my planning schedule, and have a hard copy of it, when I’m not using my computer.
I like that there are different sections for lesson planning, homework assignments, any additional notes, and standards. Moreover, the website allows you to insert links, which is an amazing feature for somebody like me. I like to start my Individuals & Societies (Humanities) class with some Did You Know Facts (interesting things related to our unit). My students record those things, and at the end of the unit we play Jeopardy game. While my students are writing these facts down, I turn some music on for them. With Planbook.com I save a lot of time, keeping all my video links in one place for a separate class.
Another great feature of this website, is the Google extention. In my IB International school we use Google apps. All of the worksheets I give to my students are saved on Google Drive. With Planbook.com I don’t need to download every single document and attach it to the lesson planner. I simply sinc my Planbook.com account with my Google account, and I have all my documents in one place. However, if you don’t use Google and have all your documents in one folder on your computer, you still have a chance to upload your documents on Planbook.com and have them handy for your class. Planbook.com allows you to upload and attach documents, files, photos, videos, etc.
There are many cool and useful features that will make your planning fun and easy. It’s my first year using this Planbook, but I have a feeling that I’m going to use it for a long time!
